MANILA – Five more Philippine-based hotels made it to the prestigious Michelin Guide Hotels list, bringing the country’s total recognized properties to 11.
The new entrants are Fairmont Makati, Manila Marriott Hotel at Newport World Resorts, Solaire Resort Entertainment City, Raffles Makati, and Shangri-La The Fort, Manila.
They join the ones that got recognized by the Michelin Guide in 2024 – Admiral Hotel Manila – MGallery, Amanpulo, Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan, Hotel Okura Manila, Nay Palad Hideaway, and The Peninsula Manila.
In a statement on Saturday, the Department of Tourism (DOT) welcomed the inclusion and described it as a recognition of the excellent hospitality that Philippine hotels offer.
“The inclusion of these DOT-accredited hotels in the Michelin Guide not only strengthens the Philippines’ positioning as a destination of choice for world-class hotel and tourism experiences, but also affirms the renowned Filipino warmth and excellence in hospitality, which serve as hallmarks of the country’s tourism brand under the Marcos administration,” it said.
Earlier this year, the Michelin Guide announced its arrival in the Philippines, with its first-ever edition expected to launch in 2026. (PNA)
